Children’s Health & Safety Fair in Lake Havasu
The Children’s Health & Safety Fair comes to Lake Havasu City on Saturday, May 19, 2012. From 10am to 1pm, the Havasu Regional Medical Center will be hosting this educational opportunity for free to the public. The goal of the health and safety fair is not just to inform kids and their parents about being healthy and safe, but also to show them that the hospital isn’t a scary place to be. There will be food and games as well as a chance to see both an ambulance and fire truck up close.
The first Health & Safety Fair conducted by the Havasu Regional Medical Center took place last October 2011 to help celebrate the grand opening of the brand new pediatric unit of the hospital. It was a complete success. So, the HRMC decided to hold another fun and informative event this May. HRMC understands that a trip to the hospital can be traumatic for kids. In showing them as well as their parents how to stay healthy and safe, the staff are attempting to help kids avoid having to visit the trauma center if at all possible. However, by showing the hospital in a positive light through fun, interactive games and exhibits, they are hoping to lessen the scary factor when an emergency does arise.
The Children’s Health & Safety Fair comes to Lake Havasu on Saturday, May 19, 2012 from 10am to 1pm. The Havasu Regional Medical Center wants to keep both you and your children educated on the benefits of being active and healthy in a uniquely fun way. And, who doesn’t want to see the inner workings of a firetruck or ambulance up close and personal?

Options for Replacing Old Bathtubs
When you need or just want a new bathtub you can replace it a much easier these days. If you wont be doing a full scale bathroom remodel, you can avoid a big mess and high costs. The available options for replacing a bathtub on a budget include a facelift, relining, or refinishing. A tub facelift is probably the least inexpensive way to go. You will only need to change out faucets. However, tub relining or refinishing will add many more years to the life or your bathtub.
Tub liners are available through the popular Re-Bath and other companies like them. Re-Bath has been making tub liners since the 1970′s. Today, they are one of the Nations largest franchiser of tub-lining products, with over 100 installers in 47 states. Another company of bath liners is Luxury Bath Systems, which has a large collection of new liners.
So how do they do it? The installer will send measurements and photographs of your tub to their warehouse. The company will identify the model and use a sheet of acrylic to produce a new 35lb tub liner. This new tub liner will be vacuum formed to the old tub for an exact fit. They will clean your old tub with special cleaners to remove all dirt and buildup, remove your old drain and overflow, trim the new liner so it fits snugly against all walls, add a new drain and overflow, and complete the task by sealing everything with tape and silicone.
Refinishing is another option. This process is very intensive and calls for hazardous chemicals that warrant the use of a respirator and a protective suite for anyone who will be working on the project. The first step to refinishing a bathtub is covering all the exposed surfaces around the bathtub. You want to protect the rest of the room from over spray. All old caulk is removed and the tub is washed with a hydrofluoric acid, which is where the toxic fumes come into the process. Once the surface is dry, four applications of polyurethane will be applied with a light sanding between each coat. Lastly the tub is polished and you have a like new tub.
So, between the options available, you will have to decide what your best option would be. Factor in time and cost to help you make your decision.

Rent Your Lake Havasu City Parking Space
All around the world you can rent spaces from vacation properties to extra rooms. So why not rent your driveway or garage? Thanks to the world-wide Internet, you can list your extra parking space for rent, and hot vacation
destinations like Lake Havasu City can make driveway rental a great option. It’s a good way to earn a little extra money during the busy vacation seasons.
You can find several websites that have cornered the niche market for renting your extra parking space, whether it it’s your driveway or your garage. Most of the sites you will find online are not limiting themselves to single-family homes. They are including parking spaces for small businesses, schools, churches and more.
Parking spaces near public transportation, attractions, and downtown areas will bring in the highest rents. However, if you live near public attractions where there is parking available, you will have to compete with their parking fees. You can rent your space for days, weeks, months, or even hours. You will only need to make sure you are not going to be restricted by HOA rules or city ordinances.
People in cities like Lake Havasu City should have no problem renting their extra parking spaces for at least $45 a week or more. In areas where parking spaces are in high demand like vacation properties, some homeowners can bring in $3,000 to $4,000 extra a year.
Renting your extra parking space is not a new idea. Property owners have been using free sites like CraigsList to post their extra parking space for rent. There are other websites like ParkAtMyHouse.com where users can communicate and exchange personal information in a private setting. You won’t even have to publish your exact address until you have an interested renter for your area. Nevertheless, always remember that there are certain risks when inviting strangers to your home. So, you may even want to check with your homeowners insurance before renting your extra parking space. Break-ins from invited guests may not be covered on your policy.
